The Easychange® has a base cover that is waterproof, on to this protective base cover zips a machine washable microfibre topper. You get two toppers with each crib mattress (one for the wash)
Should any urine go through the sheet and on to the topper , just unzip the soiled topper and replace with the clean one.
For ultimate hygiene you may need to wipe the waterproof base cover down with A Milton type bacterial cleaner in the unlikely event the urine goes through the topper as well.
However you can be assured nothing will get through the safetex cover so the mattress base is protected
